The Greatest One Is You

Lyrics

[Verse 1] There's a kind of light some people carry Like a porch lamp burning late Then one night we closed a bar down Laughing till they flipped the chairs And I knew that light belonged to you Shining brighter than the stars [Chorus] You're my best friend, my safe place The kindest heart I've ever known You think of everybody else But you still bring me home Erik, you taught me love could feel like this Soft and steady, sure and true Of all the joy I've ever had The greatest one is you [Verse 2] Two and a half years later You still grin and call me babe-athan I said I love you first that night My heart just couldn't wait You smiled and said it right back Like it was always fate [Chorus] You're my best friend, my safe place The kindest heart I've ever known You think of everybody else But you still bring me home Erik, you taught me love could feel like this Soft and steady, sure and true Of all the joy I've ever had The greatest one is you [Bridge] So raise a glass to family To every friend who's here To the man who makes me feel so safe Year after year [Verse 3] Erik, I'm standing here so grateful For the promise that we made You can't wait to spoil me forever And my love will never fade Here's to closing down the last call And dancing to the end [Chorus] You're my best friend, my safe place The kindest heart I've ever known You think of everybody else But you still bring me home Erik, you taught me love could feel like this Soft and steady, sure and true Of all the joy I'll ever have The greatest one is you [Outro] You're my best friend Now and forever, you're my best friend
